The panel that helps vet the state’s judges has forwarded the names of five lawyers to Gov. Gina Raimondo for consideration for the Workers’ Compensation Court bench.
The Judicial Nominating Commission selected Monique A. Desormier; Hagop S. Jawharjian; Jeffrey Liptrot; Kevin B. Reall; and Michael A. St. Pierre as candidates to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Janette A. Bertness.
Desormier since 2017 has worked as agency counsel for Fidelity National Title Group. Since 1994, Jawharjian has focused on general litigation and workers’ compensation law as a sole practitioner. Liptrot since 2017 has served as a probate judge in Scituate, while working as a partner in the Providence firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP.
Reall is a sole practitioner concentrating on negligence and workers’ compensation law. Since 2011, he has served as counsel for the state House of Representatives Committee on Municipal Government. St. Pierre works for the Warwick firm Revens Revens & St. Pierre, focusing on workers’ compensation, personal injury, and civil litigation.
The lifetime position earns an annual base salary of $160,317
